I started out in the trades. After my apprenticeship as a mechatronics technician, I spent two years on construction sites as an electrical installer. I know the side your electrician is on.

Then came the technology behind it. At a solar technology manufacturer I engineered production lines, programmed PLCs and operator interfaces and worked on electrical planning as part of a team. After that, several years as a software developer for battery management systems, meaning hardware-level software for lithium-ion storage.

I then worked as a project manager for several years. In 2023 I founded Sopal GmbH and have been its managing director since.

Sopal only steps in as a general contractor when a client or planner does not yet have an electrician. In that case it handles the photovoltaic system and the electrical installation the smart home builds on. It has no fitters of its own, every trade goes to a specialist company. For an electrician it is a client, not a competitor. If your project already has an electrician on board, that stays as it is. I plan, the execution stays with them.

With my engineering firm, I bring this experience to projects where technology and profitability have to be thought through together.

Automation technology has fascinated me all my life. My conviction is that a system is only truly smart when you no longer notice it. It simply works.
